If you’ve just discovered this page and you’re wondering what it is:

If you love theatre, music, and emotionally rich storytelling, you’re in the right place.

My name is Lalita Janette.

I took elements of my personal journey and transformed them into fiction, creating Good Girls Cry, Bad Girls Mourn—a cinematic musical novel designed to feel like sitting in a theatre, experiencing a story unfold through words, music, and imagery.

At first glance, Good Girls Cry, Bad Girls Mourn  may appear to be a romantic heartbreak story where pain transforms an innocent “good girl” into a “bad girl,” while the good girl carries all the blame.

But at its core, it is the story of a little girl abandoned by her mother
who unknowingly walks a path similar to her mom.

Through love, mistakes, and longing, she begins to understand why her mother left.

And in that understanding,
the part of her once seen as reckless
the “bad girl” becomes integrated and accepted.

And the good girl?
She finally realizes
it was never her fault.
This is a generational story about love, abandonment, identity, and healing—disguised as a romance.
