My name is Lalita Janette, and Good Girls Cry, Bad Girls Mourn was inspired by my own life.
At first glance, this may look like a story about romance.
About falling in love.
Getting your heart broken.
Making reckless choices.
Becoming the woman everyone warned you not to become.
A bad girl.
But beneath the romance lies something much older.
It is the story of a little girl abandoned by her mother, searching for love everywhere except within herself.
Pain in the truth.
Lessons learned from the recklessness of youth.
As she falls in love...
Loses herself...
Breaks her own heart...
She slowly begins to understand the woman she spent her whole life trying to understand.
Her mother.
And the answer to one question:
Why did she ever leave?

I created this project independently as the author, songwriter, and creative director, bringing together every element with a lot of heart.
